🚊 A look at plans for the Lake Street LRT station overhaul
The station will undergo a full renovation next year.
Feb. 2026 update: The project has been delayed until 2027, according to MinnPost.
Metro Transit recently released plans for next year's full renovation of the Lake Street LRT station, one of the busiest transit stations in the region, which has gone largely untouched since it was built 20 years ago. The plans call for reorienting the station toward Lake Street, adding a ramp, and removing almost all of the enclosed spaces — in theory, offering less relief from the elements in exchange for a safer environment.
