☕️ Milkweed is closing

Milkweed will close October 5, ending a seven-year run for the coffee shop at 39th and Lake Street.

Owner Brenda Ingersoll cited the typical challenges facing cafes right now – rising costs, staffing shortages – along with her own physical strain of working as one of the shop's primary employees. She says there are talks for another coffee shop to take over the space under a new brand, though that remains tentative.
