⚽️ The old Minnehaha Academy ice arena is now a fieldhouse – while it lasts
The history, and future, of the iconic vintage arena on Minnehaha's lower campus.

With its vintage barn structure, barebones amenities, and extremity-numbing cold, Minnehaha Academy's ice arena was long considered one of the state's most distinctive hockey venues. But these days, while the 56-year-old building remains old and spartan, it's hot and muggy as often as it's frigid.
That's because two years ago, facing rising maintenance costs and dwindling hockey participation, the school quietly removed the ice sheet and replaced it with turf. Now known as The Fieldhouse, the arena plays host to indoor soccer and other turf sports while the school eyes a plan to eventually tear it down.
